And for moms who need somewhere that feels special and relaxing to hide out in at the end of a long day.
Easter archives. After I finished up with my big desk re-do, it became pretty obvious that I needed something to fill the big giant hole where a chair’s supposed to go.Except not a chair.
I wanted something that would tuck neatly underneath to leave lots of room to move around, but that would visually take up a lot of space to hide as much of the ugly floor and walls and vent and everything..I thought, “Hmm, if only I could find the perfect little stool, something plain that I could fix up.I wonder how long I’ll have to look through thrift stores until I find it?
If only I had such a stool already.Say, sitting around somewhere like an attic or a basement.
Just one lowly stool.” Oh wait!
This was just a plain square stool. It’s been driving me crazy for a few years, but we finally found the time to get it properly-ish taken care of and now it’s just pretty much the apple of my eye!
I’m pretty sure it was never meant to be a dining room and probably never has been one in the history of this house, but a “real” dining room is something that I’ve wanted for a long time.. And.my beloved 150 year old family dining room furniture deserves a happy home, so here’s how we made that happen, in grey and white so it could play nicely with the living room which is right off of it!.
First, let’s start with some “before” pictures from before we moved in, when we were having the house inspected, and some from this first few months we were here too.I searched through my old laptop and here are some of the pictures I found.. That paint color was really quite something.
